Pam MacDonald

A lifelong adventurer with a passion for wild places, Pamela has built a life rooted in endurance, exploration, and leadership. In her twenties, she attended Tom Brown’s Tracking, Nature, and Wilderness Survival School and lived semi-primitively as a caretaker at a primitive camp in the Pine Barrens of New Jersey. She later served as Director of Concentric Rings Community Education Programs and Coyote Tracks Summer Camps for the Children of the Earth Foundation, where she helped youth connect with nature through wilderness skills and awareness. An avid endurance athlete, Pamela has competed in numerous ultra marathons ranging from 50 km to 100 miles, including completing the Haliburton 100-mile race in under 30 hours. While raising her family, she, her husband Geoff, and their Alaskan Malamute, Taq, canoed 10,000 km across Canada—a six-year expedition from Victoria, BC, to Quebec City, QC (www.canoeacrosscanada.ca). She spends summers at her family’s off-grid cabin in the wilds of Killarney, Ontario, and winters skiing in the Rocky Mountains from her home in Calgary, Alberta. Pamela is excited to be joining this incredible community to share the skills and passion that have shaped her life, helping others deepen their connection to the natural world.
